1. A 21yr old student complains and a headache and an aversion to light. His flatmate has brought him to A&E after noticing a rash on his arm which does not blanch under a glass
2. A 66yr old woman with known diverticular disease is admitted on the surgical take unconscious with a rigid abdomen. She undergoes an emergency laparotomy and is found to have a perforated bowel.
3. A 24yr old office worker is seen in A&E feeling unwell. Investigations reveal a pyrexia of 37.8, WCC of 12 and a dull right base. CXR confirms a RLL pneumonia.
4. A 54yr old teacher has a benign mole removed from her right shoulder by her GP. 4 days later she returns complaining that the site is still painful. On examination there is a well demarcated erythematous area around the site of removal.
5. A 31yr old refugee from Somalia is recalled to the TB clinic after a month and a half of treatment with the standard regimen. Cultures have confirmed an MDR strain, and the doctor explains that he needs to start an IV medication.
